Wide shots of flooded districts

Description

Ayutthaya is located just to the north of Bangkok at the confluence of the Chao Phraya, Lopburi and Prasak rivers. A former capital of Siam, the area is one of the most historically important in Thailand with a number of ancient temples. By the beginning of October 2011, most dams were already near or over capacity and were being forced to increase their rate of discharge, potentially worsening downstream flooding.[19] Flooding in Ayutthaya worsened and flood water entered the city itself, inundating the Ayutthaya Historical Park and forcing evacuations.
